Hugely popular video sharing and meeting app Zoom has come out with some significant weaknesses in the recent days. By facing the critical issue there also arises the question that "Is Zoom Secured?". And the researchers found that Zoom is not a secured option for confidential data sharing and government secrets.
A team at The Citizen Lab found that Zoom was using a non-standard type of encryption, and transmitting information through China and it is not appropriate for government use such as cabinet meeting.
But the researchers also state that this app is fine for personal use and for study purposes in the group.
Due to recent COVID-19 attack Zoom made its service free for personal and educational use by increasing its free time video meeting from 40 minutes to unlimited during the Coronavirus quarantine. By making it's services free and the free time of the people many new users and educational sectors are continuously using its service and due to heavy traffic hackers are also attracted to this app which makes exposes its weaknesses and found that though this app is not a good option for confidential data sharing and government uses for can be used for other personal contact and can be free use for educational purposes in a group.
